More than 69,000 pounds of frozen, ready-to-eat Tyson Foods chicken strips are being recalled because they may be contaminated with metal. 

The products join a similar recall announced in late January of more than 36,000 pounds of Arkansas-based Tyson nuggets recalled because of possible rubber contamination. 

The U.S. Agriculture Department said Thursday the products were produced on Nov. 30, 2018, and have a best if used date of Nov. 30, 2019.  They have the establishment number “P-7221” on the back of the packages. 

There have been no reports of injures due to the metal contamination, the USDA said but they have received two complaints.

Which Tyson Foods chicken strips have been recalled?

Products recalled Thursday include ones marked:

• “Tyson fully cooked buffalo style chicken strips Chicken breast strip fritters with rib meat and buffalo style sauce” — sold in 25 ounce plastic bags. These recalled products are marked with case codes 3348CNQ0317 and 3348CNQ0318.
• “Tyson fully cooked crispy chicken strips Chicken breast strip fritters with rib meat” — sold in 25 ounce plastic bags. These recalled products are marked with case codes 3348CNQ0419, 3348CNQ0420, 3348CNQ0421, and 3348CNQ0422.
• “Spare time fully cooked, buffalo style chicken strips Chicken breast strip fritters with rib meat and buffalo style sauce” — sold in 20 pound frozen cases. These recalled products are marked with case code 3348CNQ03.

The USDA is concerned the products could still be in freezers. Consumers should throw out the packages or return them to the place of purchase.

The products were shipped to retail locations nationwide and for institutional use in locations in Michigan and Washington, the USDA said.  

Tyson Foods said the products were sent to distribution centers in the following states: Arkansas, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Georgia, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin.
