Smile Direct Club announced plans to hire 2,010 new employees through 2024, the fast-growing startup announced Wednesday morning.
The jobs will be divided between its downtown offices and expanded facilitie in Antioch, officials said in a joint press conference with Gov. Bill Lee on Wednesday morning at the company’s downtown Nashville headquarters.
The $217 million investment comes as the company reportedly is considering going public this summer.
“It is really a great day for Tennessee,” Gov. Bill Lee said. “One of the things that changes people’s lives is having a good job and one of the ways jobs are created is companies making a decision to commit to our community.”
The company, which specializes in low-cost at-home teeth straightening products, currently employs 4,400 people.
